a.		Pioneer screen actress Florence Lawrence is said to have an uncredited bit part in this film. The only visible role of any consequence in which she might be identified is that of a customer in Mandels Emporium who is trying on a corset, but whether or not this is her cannot be confirmed.
b.		John Varley originally wrote the short story "Air Raid" in 1977. At the time, it was optioned as a project for FX director Douglas Trumbull, director of Silent Running and Brainstorm. The plan was to make it a vehicle for Paul Newman and Jane Fonda. Trumbulls production fell through, only for it to be inherited first by Randal Kleiser and then Richard Rush. With all the comings and goings over the years, Varley was able to first turn it into a novel in 1983 and then a screenplay.
c.		Holdens last name, "Worther", like his first name, is a literary allusion. It comes from Goethes novel The Sorrows of Young Werther, which attracted an audience of alienated young people in the 19th century the way The Catcher in the Rye did in the 20th century. The plot of Young Werther - an intensely romantic young man with aspirations to be a writer falls in love with an older married woman, is rejected by her and ultimately commits suicide - parallels the plot of "The Good Girl".
d.		Among many other similarities between Pride and Prejudice and Bride and Prejudice is the obvious connections between names. Some of the parallel characters with similar/altered names are:Lalita = similar to Elizabeth Bennets nickname, Lizzy; Jaya = Jane; Lahki = Lydia; Will Darcy = Fitzwilliam Darcy; Mr Kohli = Mr Collins. Wickham is still Wickham. Even Darcys sister is named Georgie, as compared to Pride and Prejudices Georgianna.

a.		The frat boy who drunkly declares himself a "sea pig" is directly referencing the original film, wherein a student jumps into the sorority swimming pool and declares the same.
b.		When Oleg says he listens to "Kvasha", this is a direct reference to not only the music type, but also Oleg Kvasha who first played for the NHL team Florida Panthers back in 1996. The first name "Oleg" also happens to be Cameron Brights characters first-name: Oleg Yugorsky.
c.		The reason Steve Buscemis character, Donny, is constantly being told to "Shut the fuck up!" by Walter (John Goodman), is because Buscemis character in Fargo would not shut up.
d.		Carole Lombard (uncredited) plays one of Glorias four friends, who are all in at least three key scenes: one in which they are eavesdropping while Tom proposes marriage, another while Gloria is getting dressed for her wedding and finally as bridesmaids at the wedding. Lombard is standing directly between and behind Tom and Gloria. Clark Gable (also uncredited) can be recognized as one of a group of men standing in front of a bar in a briefly glimpsed medium shot. It would be interesting to know if they became acquainted during the making of this film. Gary Cooper also appears in a small part - actually two small parts, as both a flood victim and a survivor.
