a.		The characters who are based on characters from the games are Blair, Maniac, Angel, Paladin, Admiral Tolwyn, Hunter, Knight and also Lt. Cdr. "Bossman" Chen (the unseen dead pilot whose name is written on this side of the fighter Blair sits in when he first meets Angel). The other characters such as Captain Sansky and Commander Gerald are new to the Wing Commander universe. Other references carried over from the games include the ship names TCS Tiger Claw (originally called the Tigers Claw), TCS Concordia, Diligent, Snakeir, Rapier, Broadsword, Hornet and Dralthi.
b.		Steve Martin and Victoria Tennant met on the set of this movie. They were married in 1986.
c.		Roy Orbison initially rejected David Lynchs request to use the song "In Dreams" in the brothel scene. Lynch found a way to legally use the song anyway and Orbison did not discover the song was in the movie until Orbison just happened to see the movie in a California theatre. Orbison eventually filmed a video for the song that was produced by Lynch with footage from the movie.
