d.		A week of filming took place in a remote part of the wilderness near Mountain Lake, Virginia, with the cast and crew camping out on location. Chocolate syrup was used for blood. In the scene with blood on the trees, producer Jack Bennett had already saturated the location with syrup when the on-set wildlife conservancy expert pointed out that the smell could attract bears from miles away. The cast and crew continued filming in spite of their fear of approaching bears, and when a scene required Bennett to run blindly into the dark woods, on the first take he ran directly through the chocolate, accidentally covering himself.
