a.		Filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina using the school name of Topsail High School. There is a real Topsail High School near Wilmington and most of the props for the school were taken from there.
b.		The credits list "Dead Old Man" as a production studio in conjunction with Apolloscreen. "Dead Old Man" is the name of a song in the original stage production.
c.		During the helicopter stunt, the runners caught on the ropes and as the helicopter rose, it threatened to seriously injure John Savage and Robert De Niro. The actors gestured and yelled furiously to the crew in the helicopter to warn them. Footage of this is included in the film.
d.		Betty Compson originally played the second lead, but after several trial runs, it was decided that the film was to dark. Her dramatic part was cut and replaced by lighter fare featuring Dorothy Sebastian and Paulette Duval.
