a.		During filming of a scene August 29, 2004 a block away from the Republican National Convention, Rosario Dawson, Vija Zvers and director Stephen Marshall were arrested. Dawson and Zvers allegedly refused to yield to police and were wearing bandannas as masks, in violation of local law regarding public demonstrations. When Marshall protested the arrests and showed police the films permits, he also was arrested. The last 15 minutes of the film were changed to incorporate the incident into the movie including using actual footage of the arrests. All charges were dropped in March 2005 after video showed that the filming did not cause any obstruction and that Dawson and company obeyed all police directives.
b.		During the fight scene at the party, Elvis Presley goes outside to tell the band to play something slow. He and his friend Charlie Hodge, who has a bit role in the film as a guitar player in the band, start cracking up during Elvis line. Charlie later said the reason for the laughter was that it was cold outside and Elvis nose was running.

Scott (who was in full costume and makeup) kept losing to the champ; yet he was determined to win at least one set, even if they had to stand there playing the entire night.
d.		The play that this movie was based on ("The Front Page") had a famous last line: "The son-of-a-bitch stole my watch!" While the line and the plot points leading up to it didnt fit into "His Girl Friday", they did pay homage to it by having the first crime that Burns framed Baldwin for be the theft of a watch.
