a.		The screenplay for "The Attic Expeditions" was written in 1991 to be a completely different film. When director Jeremy Kasten, a recent film school graduate, was working as a production assistant on low-budget straight-to-video movies, he was given the opportunity to associate produce one such film called Witchcraft IV: The Virgin Heart. The writer of the film was late turning in his script so Kasten called his writing partner Rogan Marshall in Mississippi and asked if he was up to the task. Marshall had five days to come up with something. When Kasten got the script one day early, he knew he wanted it to be his directorial debut and decided not to turn it in.

The real-life Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 3 in the Philippines at the beginning of World War II was equipped with six 77-foot Elco PT boats, all either lost in combat or destroyed to prevent capture. In the film, the Squadron 3 boats are represented by two 80-foot Elco and four 78-foot Huckins PT boats.
