Unfortunately, his immigrant Sicilian mother walked out in disgust, upon the first semi-nude scene, and as the movie went on, it was apparent that Charlie was the thug who moved juke-boxes in and out establishments that the mob pressured. It was such a repetitive scene in the movie that Charlies brother Angelo, exclaimed out loud in the theater to much laughter "you call yourself an actor...youre a furniture mover!" Charles still has the handsome flat nosed boxer look, and resides in Hollywood, Florida.
c.		"(If It Isnt Pain) Then It Isnt Love" by Ralph Rainger and Leo Robin was recorded for this movie but cut from the final print.
d.		In the "making of" documentary, both Stephen Baldwin and Kevin Pollak acknowledge that their long-standing feud with each other began on the set of this film. Though neither actor directly states what caused their animosity towards each other, Pollak does mention that Baldwin, in an attempt to stay in character as MacManus, he would go around acting tough and sometimes bully the other actors. When the studio successfully lured Harrison back they paid Plummer his entire agreed-upon fee of $300,000 to sit out the production of the film. Harrison was wary of nm0108634 writing the score since he was an unknown quantity to him and, on his own, had English songwriters nm0841699 and nm0281141 try their hand at songs for the film. Swann and Flanders signed a contract with Fox in February 1966 and completed at least four songs (Animalitarians/I Wont Be King/A Total Vegetarian/Goodbye to Sophie) which Harrison recorded as demos before Harrison heard and approved the Bricusse score for use in the film.
b.		The Spanish government threatened to bar all Paramount films from Spain and its territories unless the film was withdrawn from worldwide circulation. They protested the unfavorable portrayal of the Spanish police. Paramount destroyed the original print after its initial run, and it remained out of circulation until 1959. Marlene Dietrich herself kept a print of the film in a bank vault for safe keeping, as it was her favorite film. She feared the film would otherwise be lost. New prints were struck from her private copy in the 1980s for art house release. The superb quality of the prints in circulation now , and on DVD are because of this fact.

Magnetos line "When will these people learn how to fly?" is a reference to the fact that some of the characters (Jean Grey and also Rogue, who gets the ability from permanently absorbing Ms. Marvels powers in the comics) have the ability to fly in the comics but havent yet in the films. The only characters with the power of flight in the comics that have shown this ability in the movies are Magneto and Storm (although Storm was manipulating wind currents to levitate herself, and Magneto was only able to levitate by standing on metal - presumably he wears shoes with metal sole-plates to do this in other occasions).
b.		Songwriter Joe Raposo and director Richard Williams contributed voices to pirates extras.
c.		Joel McCrea left the cast after one days work because of a disagreement with director Josef von Sternberg.
