a.		In a curious bit of film-within-a-film, two sequences of "The Battle of the Hearts" are screened by Hedda Hopper in her documentary Hedda Hoppers Hollywood No. 1. Both Hopper and William Farnum starred (it was Heddas film debut) in the The Battle of Hearts and both are present at the 1942 screening in addition to Hoppers son and daughter-in-law. "The Battle of Hearts" appears to be a lost film today except for the quick sequences in Hoppers documentary, alas she seems to have had a print of the whole film in 1942. The whereabouts of her print are unknown.
b.		Luigis family are all variants of the Fiat 500, a popular small car produced in Italy from 1936-1955. The car was nicknamed Topolino which is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse. This is why Luigis uncle is called Uncle Topolino.
c.		Original screenwriter Fred Dekker initially conceived the story with Anthony Michael Hall in mind for the role of Michael Corbin before the producers chose to have it rewritten for Richard Grieco.
