a.		To avoid confusion, this film is the directors cut version of the original Straight to Hell (1987). According to Alex Cox on his website, after he saw the Redux version of Apocalypse Now (1979), Alex wanted to make a new version of STH using digital techniques that he couldnt use at the time (like the color change, digital blood, etc). He worked with Collateral Imagine who did the effects of Coxs Repo Chick (2009) to do the digital effects. The film is also six minutes longer, which Cox regretfully admits to cutting at the time of release.
b.		A hand-held camera was used in many scenes to give a "live action" feel to those sequences. This was extremely rare in feature films of the time.
c.		In an interview with Heather Langenkamp, she mentioned that Ronee Blakley really did slap her during the kitchen scene. However, if you watch the scene carefully, you can see that she must be referring to a previous take. Its obvious that the slap seen in the final take is artificial.
d.		Filmed right after_Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985)_, this film was supposed to be the sequel. However when the producers realized this film was the better of the two, they simply renamed them and made the other film a prequel to this. This explains why Steve Bing receives a credit for "characters" because he wrote the screenplay for what became the prequel.
