a.		Rock band Pink Floyd was at one point approached to perform music for the film. However they turned it down due to other commitments. Yet they retain a connection with the film: much like The Wizard of Oz and "Dark Side of the Moon", it is said that Pink Floyds song "Echoes" from the album "Meddle" can be perfectly synchronized with the "Jupiter & Beyond the Infinite" segment of the film. b.		The "abandoned missile base" in the movie is actually the Alabama Space and Rocket Center museum and the "Rocket Park" in the back lot of the museum. The museum benefited from the filming of this movie because the display rockets had to be "aged" for the film and then later cleaned. The bi-annually cleaning of these outdoor displays is a major expense.
c.		Originally, no film companies wanted to make this film, 20th Century-Fox had even passed on it. They stated various reasons, most being that it was too bloody.
