a.		The title has been said to suggest that the main characters are delicate as magnolias but tough as steel, but this is not explained in the movie. The only references to the two words are Ouisers near accusation of Drum of stealing Magnolias from her tree, and then a later comment by MLynn that men are supposed to be made out of steel.
b.		The dogs featured in the pictures at the end of the movie (during the credits) were winners of a photo/essay contest hosted by www.dogster.com. Members had to submit a photo of their dog along with an essay explaining why their dog is a hero.
c.		Albert Brooks was always Andrew Stantons first choice to voice the part of Marlin. Although Brooks had done several episodes of The Simpsons, he found voice work for a feature length cartoon to be substantially different in that he had to do it in isolation, and not alongside any other actors.
