Stallone mentions that the pain he felt was so intense, he was afraid to look at his hand, fearing the squib had completely blown his thumb off.

Although this film was successfully prosecuted as a video nasty in the UK in 1984, its initial DVD release passed uncut at the 15 certificate- due to the films ultra-fake effects and the films overall cheesiness which greatly reduce the chance of it being offensive to anyone.
